Operator- 1705209 – Palmyra, MO

BASF's Hannibal, Missouri Plant is one of the world's leading producers of agricultural chemicals. The operator may be assigned to the utilities unit or any one several production units at the Hannibal Plant that produce insecticides, herbicides, or intermediate chemicals.

Primary position functions include:
- Responsible for safety, quality, housekeeping, and proper care of equipment in the work area.
- Perform simple math calculations, interprets and carries out written instructions.
- Record data on log sheet; reads and interprets log sheet data.
- Adjust the process when appropriate.
- Coordinate process operations with supervisors, co-workers and technical personnel.
- Analyze and troubleshoot process problems utilizing available resources.
- Performs minor maintenance and follows maintenance work in the area.
- Maintains communication as related the process and equipment.
- Collects and evaluates samples; documents sample results.
- Monitors equipment in assigned area of responsibility for proper operation.
- Complete required training, including, but not limited to RCRA, PSM, DOT, Safety, etc.
- Support the Plant's safety and environmental goals.
- Required member of HAZMAT team and Industrial Fire Brigade

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience in one of the following environments:
- Working in an industrial manufacturing plant environment
- Working in an agricultural/farming environment with heavy industrial machinery
- Military service and a military occupational specialty (MOS or equivalent) in a technical field

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in chemical manufacturing, refining, or similar operation
