Where the Chemistry Happens…

This is a strategic-focused position where you will collaborate with Operations and Maintenance personnel and provide services relating to design review, repair, and maintenance, including predictive/preventative maintenance activities. Additionally, it provides technical support for capital projects as needed.

Rotating Equipment Engineer (1801080) – Port Arthur, TX

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Provide technical support for large turbo machinery/rotating equipment outages and repairs.
- Furnish continuity over shift type operations and serve as point of contact for American and European colleagues, Reliability Center, and participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis for complex and/or repetitive problems
- Support capital projects by supplying engineering expertise in the specification, design, and construction of capital projects in accordance with plant design requirements, as well as regulatory, ASME, API, and BASF standards.
- Contribute scope development for maintenance and capital improvements.
- Perform criticality analysis, spare parts recommendations, and inventory verification.
- Provide support with Technical Bid analyses and bonus/malus reviews.
- Contribute troubleshooting skills to assist maintenance and operations.
- Participate in the Bad Actor program and handle assigned action items.
- Take part in RBM process and predictive/preventive maintenance initiatives.
- Engage with COE teams and act as the site expert on rotating equipment.
- Track KPIs and other metrics related to rotating equipment performance.
- Participate and work on Global Teams for rotating equipment information exchanges.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years plant engineering experience in the refining, petrochemical, or chemical industry.
- Turbo Machinery experience is highly desired.
- Experience in mechanical maintenance, reliability and condition monitoring, predictive/preventative maintenance, and maintenance systems (CMMS).
- Troubleshooting, root cause analysis, inspection, and testing experience required.
- SAP maintenance activity experience is highly beneficial.
- Strong communications, interpersonal skills, initiative, follow up, analysis, and problem assessment skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Lotus Notes and SAP.
