The Engineer, Advanced Cleaning and Etching will be part of the Electronic Materials team and will be based in Hillsboro, Oregon, supporting the overall success of the Dispersions & Resins business in North America.

The Dispersions & Resins division develops, produces and markets a range of high-quality resins, additives, colorants and polymer dispersions worldwide. Reporting to the Lab/Site Manager, the Engineer will be responsible for the management and conduction of all the advanced cleaning and etching lab activities, which also include preparing and demonstrating R & D formulations.

Principal Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, execute and document R&D experiments for cleaning and etching projects.
- Prepare technical documents and participate in technical discussion with customers and project partners.
- Perform lab operation and equipment maintenance, and follow working procedures in the lab in accordance to global advanced materials standards.
- Part of global development team for cleaning and etching.
- Active team member of global project team for cleaning and etching projects.
- Implement EHS rule based on BASF guideline.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Masters and 3+ years of experience -OR- Ph.D. in chemistry or chemical engineering
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate detailed and precise technical requirements, procedures, and results in written and oral format.
- A team player who is self-motivated with a proactive attitude and a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to effectively communicate detailed and precise technical requirement, procedures, and results in written and oral formats.
- Demonstrated experience directing, coordinating and managing team activities to accomplish highly technical tasks.

You may also have:
- Lab setup and management experience.
- Experience in product development.
- Knowledge and experience in operating experiments regarding cleaning processes and analytic method.
- Experience working in a global team environment.
- Fundamental understanding of cleaning or etching technology in silicon processing.
