Where the Chemistry Happens…

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical, Engineering, and Services (TES) Manager at our Quincy, Florida manufacturing site. The Dispersions, Resins, and Additives business of BASF prides itself in offering a comprehensive range of solutions for formulators’ needs for products in coatings, inks, adhesives, building materials and additives. The Quincy operation is a specialty site within the Dispersions, Resins, and Additives business focusing on the manufacture of attapulgite clay products that are used in a wide variety of industries, such as construction, agriculture, nutrition, filtration, coatings, and oilfield solutions.

Technical, Engineering and Services Manager (1700473)

As the TES Manager, you will provide leadership, direction, and focus for the maintenance, facilities, security, and project engineering groups at the site. You will drive continuous improvement working toward achieving best in class capital project development & execution and maintenance reliability and organizational performance. You will act as the primary interface and be responsible for leadership of the team in collaboration with regional and global business colleagues in Technology, Supply Chain, EHS, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, R&D, HR and Controlling.

Two of the primary industries supported by the Quincy site are Construction and Agriculture. There is a high demand swing during prime construction and agriculture seasons. Short lead times require the ability to be flexible, adaptable to change and provide good communication and strong leadership to team and other functions.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Example and champion adherence to the Technical Community best practices for maintenance as well as promote continuous work process improvements in order to enhance plant availability and reduce plant repair factor.
- Develop a 5-year capital plan and annual maintenance budget.
- Manage and execute capital projects within the BASF guidelines.
- Manage Facilities/Site Security function.
- Provide leadership /direction to the Quincy Site Leadership Team on facilities/security issues and oversight for the plant security officers.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You...
- Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering Discipline with at least 10 years of experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment, to include maintenance and project engineering.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a union environment.
- Strong Change catalyst capability; managerial/facilitator skills to manage efficiency and effectiveness of assets and team.
- Demonstrated capability to manage and streamline multiple priorities and stakeholders, as well as lead teams to do the same.
- Familiar with SAP, MS Office, AutoCAD, other CMMS. BASF web based applications a plus.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability drive continuous process improvement initiatives and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of SAP planning, purchasing, and PM systems.

- Ability to work independently under broad goals and objectives with minimal guidance, preferably in a union environment..
- Previous cost center experience - budget maintenance / cost allowance.
- Lean and Six Sigma training in order to facilitate the optimization of work processes and assets at the site.
- Responsible Care management - familiarity with ISO standards, OSHA PSM standards, RC audits, hazardous materials.
- Experience with PSM program/requirements preferred.
