BASF is currently seeking a motivated Associate Scientist to join our Agricultural Solutions business at our Research & Development (R&D) facility in Research Triangle Park (RTP), NC.

Associate Scientist (1703068) – RTP, NC

As an Associate Scientist, you will become part of an established, global interdisciplinary research team focused on the development and registration of new BASF plant protection products, and on supporting life cycle management for our portfolios. You will support these activities through conducting residue analysis.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Prepare and conduct residue analysis of plant, animal and environmental matrices for plant protection products and their major metabolites under GLP, including method development and validation
- Data evaluation, documentation and reporting including internal presentation
- General laboratory tasks and operation of LC/MS/MS instrumentation

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Environmental Science, Crop Protection, Food Science, Biochemistry, Biology or Related Field
- Proven general knowledge in organic and analytical chemistry
- Knowledge of quantitative residue analysis using LC/MS/MS, wet chemistry and analytical chromatographic techniques
- Solid written/verbal communication and presentation skills (e.g. in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Problem-solving, precise analytical technique, good laboratory hygiene, excellent communication abilities, teamwork, technical writing and accurate data handling

We Also Look For…
- Working experience with the operation of LC-MS/MS for quantitative analysis, chromatography, extraction and purification techniques as well as analytical method development and troubleshooting
