BASF is seeking an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic individual interested to join our Crop Protection Business in Research Triangle Park (RTP), NC.

Chemist III (1703001)

As a Chemist, you will be focused on Analytical and Physical Chemistry under Good Laboratory Procedures (GLP), and will support the development and/or optimization of agricultural chemical formulations. In addition, you will be responsible for generating the necessary physical chemistry data required for regulatory filings with the EPA and other global regulatory agencies. You will also lead and/or assist in the design and execution of GLP projects, as well as the interpretation of laboratory results and preparation of regulatory documents. The selected individual will work under moderate supervision as a member of a multi-disciplinary research team.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Conduct both GLP and non-GLP physical chemistry analysis of pesticide formulations
- Conduct physical chemistry on agricultural pesticides to obtain the necessary data required for regulatory filings
- Prepare all physical chemistry related documents required for regulatory filings with the EPA or globally
- Utilize existing, and implement new, technologies towards increasing our laboratory efficiencies (Physical chemistry instrumentation, Instrument software, etc.)
- Communicate project status to all relevant stakeholders (formulations, registrations, etc.) through the use of technical reports and presentations

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
- PhD in a scientific discipline; chemistry, biology or related field with 0+ years of experience - OR - MS with 3+ years of industrial experience - OR - BS with 5+ years of industrial experience
- Experience working within a GLP environment
- Experience with physical chemistry techniques (DSC, KF, TGA, Density, pH, suspensibility, etc.)
- Experience with analytical chemistry instrumentation (HPLC, GC)
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (EPA, FIFRA, TSCA, OECD)
- Proficient with data acquisition/interpretation/reporting
- Serious safety focus, attention to detail, problem solving and decision making skills; Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
