Where the Chemistry Happens…

BASF Plant Science (RBP) is seeking to appoint an innovative and experienced leader for the position of Global Head Stewardship & Operations, based in Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina. As the Global Head of Stewardship & Operations, you will be responsible for the global leadership and further integration of the Global Stewardship Function within BASF Plant Science, consisting of: the Global Quality Management & Responsible Care group, Global Quality Control & Stewardship Governance group, Global Logistics & Operations group, and Global Audits.

Formula for Success: You Will…

Drawing upon your track record of motivational leadership, international exposure, and progressive work experience in applicable disciplines, you will:
- Lead and oversee all aspects of Global Stewardship initiatives in all countries where BASF Plant Science directly or indirectly (via Service Providers or via BASF Group Service Level Agreements) runs research or development activities in the field, laboratory, or growth chambers.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations for the research and product development activities of BASF Plant Science globally, including all phases of the process for the import, interstate movement, and environmental release of regulated biotechnology crops in applicable countries.
- Guide and steer the implementation and continuous development of the Stewardship strategy for BASF Plant Science’s crop biotechnology products, and maintain or (in added countries and regions) achieve the high operational excellence of BASF Plant Science's Stewardship operations.
- Serve as the expert on external and internal Stewardship requirements in the key cultivation and import countries for biotechnology crops ensuring efficient documentation, reporting, and harmonized approaches to Stewardship requirements.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards relevant to global Stewardship operation. Accountable for the availability and use of appropriate training programs for all Stewardship activities within BASF Plant Science.
- Interact with all relevant functions within BASF Group, BASF Corp., and BASF Plant Science to ensure frequent reporting (KPIs) and compliance with relevant internal guidelines.
- Manage the Annual Stewardship Report, the emergency preparedness and incident reporting, biosafety, and external certification (e.g., ISO 17025, GLP) in relevant working areas.
