Marketing Lead – Seed Solutions (1704843) – RTP, NC

As a Marketing Lead of Seed Solutions, you will champion the seed treatment marketing team and build excitement for the BASF portfolio within our US Crop organization. You will be accountable for the development, implementation and execution of marketing plans for the entire portfolio, through the assigned marketing staff. You will lead portfolio development by crop, and launch this new portfolio of products including; fungicides, insecticides, nematicides, inoculants, biologicals and seed coatings, as well as nitrogen stabilizers and in-furrow products across multiple crops and customer segments.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Lead the development of a clear customer value proposition & market launch plan for the entire portfolio including; develop a clear business plan, opportunity mapping, identification and tracking of plan metrics, financial objectives, and implementation of strategies and tactics in close collaboration with sales, account management, technical service and senior management
- With the help of Key Account Lead and Sales & Support Lead, monitor, record and report events occurring in assigned markets -- including the collecting and recording of marketplace intelligence related to 1) competitors, their products and marketing programs; 2) trends, threats and market opportunities; 3) customer expectations; and 4) any other events/activities potentially affecting opportunities for BASF to successfully implement its business plans
- Actively work with the regional marketing team and technical services to identify key portfolio gaps, and address innovation needs to fill gaps supported with proper business cases
- Actively support and work together with account managers and sales representatives to help create distributor, seed company and retail account plans, including LCM plans for the same accounts
- Monitor and analyze market and customer dynamics and their impacts to the established market strategy and life cycle management priorities
- Coordinate with other key internal and external groups to ensure segment-related plans are implemented including PLE support
- Manage assigned product short and long-term supply, forecasting, and profitability by coordinating a balance between short-term operating results and long-term market share development.
- Provide strategic direction to Marketing Communications Specialist and Communication Agency in the execution of advertising, promotions, sponsorships, special events, collateral marketing and other promotional activities with an overall objective of conveying a unified and distinctive leadership presence in the marketplace built from 3-year launch plans.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
- BS in Business, Agronomy or Related Field
- 8+ years of experience, to include experience in the agri-business industry
- 5+ years of Marketing, Sales and/or Business Development experience
- Proven product launch experience
- Willing and able to travel domestically up to 25% of the time
- Business acumen and ability to strategically analyze global reaching factors and summarize into concise, creative business plans to reach financial goals

We Also Look For…
- MS/MBA/PhD Degree
- 5+ years Marketing, Sales and/or Business Development experience in the area of seed treatment
- Team leadership experience desired, but not required
- Experience with 3rd party negotiations
- Experience working in an environment with complex products
