Where the Chemistry Happens…

The Global Market Analyst supports the Functional Crop Care business by monitoring market data from various sources and providing insight to advance portfolio optimization, business case development, and M&A activity. This position also works closely with Finance personnel to analyze planned vs. actual revenue, both from a historical and current timeframe. The position is responsible for the business market intelligence program, collaboration platforms, portfolio management, as well as development and coordination of the 10-Year Forecast. The incumbent will continuously improve SharePoint collaboration platforms, procure market research studies, and monitor and propose actions in response to trends in the market, government, and regulations. This position requires a global mindset, management of new and complex tasks, and close collaboration with global marketing, global R&D, and regional teams.

Senior Market Analyst (1701906) – Research Triangle Park, NC

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Procure market studies based on business needs. Assess needs from market marketing and R&D managers, bid out requirements to vendors, and negotiate timing and cost of the study. Report subsequent results to stakeholders.
- Serve as a market Intelligence program manager – procure market studies based on assessed needs and publish monthly and ad-hoc reports to a global community and executives by providing insight into market drivers and competitive activities.
- Hold responsibility for the 10-Year Forecast development for the business. Develop assumptions and guidance, provide feedback to global and regional marketing managers, and review the final submission to summarize implications for the business.
- Provide portfolio analysis and complexity reduction. Help the business better focus by identifying portfolio rationalization targets based on financial and strategic criteria, and negotiate final target with Global Marketing. This requires negotiation and use of judgment with regional and global colleagues
- Prepare competitor analysis and M&A company evaluations. Manage and facilitate competitor analysis to accelerate business response tactics using a global internal network, market studies, and publicly available information. Keep databases updated, and disseminate information to other marketing and R&D colleagues.
- Improve SharePoint collaboration platforms for the business. This is essential to helping the business communicate across regions effectively.
- Provide ad hoc business support, including quickly responding to requests for reports or presentations on markets, competitors, strategic controlling, R&D framing, and business updates.

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing or similar field with 8+ years of professional work experience. A Master’s degree, preferably in Marketing or similar with 6+ years of professional work experience or a PhD degree, preferably in Marketing or similar field with 3+ years of professional work experience will also be considered.
- 5+ years in a business marketing analysis role.
- Background in the agricultural industry is preferable; experience working overseas is a differentiator.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, including ability to disseminate information through data visualization (i.e., Edward Tufte).
- Solid computer applications proficiency, including SharePoint and Excel, and experience with long-term planning systems.
