Lead Lab Specialist (1802510) – Seneca, SC

The Lead Lab Specialist operates under goals and objectives determined by the Lab Manager. Review and approval are reflected by attainment of workflow and project goals and analytical productivity. The incumbent will perform both lab analyst and supervisory roles.

- Lead, direct schedules, and help to schedule and oversee training/training records of non-exempt Lab personnel as designed by lab management and/or training coordinator associates.
- Responsible for helping to achieve Lab productivity and quality control goals, supporting production schedules to ensure safe, efficient utilization of labor, equipment and materials.
- Assist Lab Management to enforce proper safety and environmental practices. Recommends necessary maintenance of equipment.
- Is contact for instrument maintenance and technical issues. Help manage instrument downtime tracking, calibration/PM coordination and instrument service calls.
- Collaborate with the maintenance department to write and schedule work notifications and permits.
- Is required to be (or complete training and become) an authorized permit supervisor, and attend maintenance scheduling meeting on a daily basis.
- Responsible for lab purchases and oversight of chemical inventory lists.
- Responsible for ensuring internal lab attendance and time keeping records are properly maintained.
- Provide input for performance reviews and help to recommend when discipline should be enforced. In conjunction with the Lab Manager, coach non-exempt lab personnel as needed on various aspects of the job.
- Apply basic algebra to set up and perform calculations.
- Work effectively with others to solve problems.
- Have knowledge of safe laboratory practices.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field
- 1 year of experience as a lab technician in a chemical laboratory environment
