Business Unit Controller (1801836) – Southfield, MI

Where the Chemistry Happens

We are seeking a professional like you to lead the CCB Controlling organization in North America (NA) and assigned global CCB Controlling projects, including serving as a representative in global projects steered from the CC Global Headquarters. You will have accountability for planning and financial performance management, business analysis, and the governance and compliance process to support G-CCB business growth in NA. In addition, you will guide, challenge, consult, and partner with business unit leadership to enable appropriate financial decision-making and value generation. You also will play a key role in coordinating and managing G-CCB investment and JV projects in NA.

Formula for Success
- Leveraging your advanced educational background in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline, along with your extensive professional experience in Controlling or Business Management, you will prepare all financial and economic data and reports associated with strategic and operational planning.
- Driving strategic decisions for the business, you will partner and advise business unit management on the financial implications of various business alternatives regarding pricing, capacity utilization, working capital issue, capital expenditures, expansion/shutdown, and M&A NA.
- Your strong experience in financial issues related to M&A, JV, licensing, new ventures, and/or setting up new business or legal entities will be a valued asset as you coordinate and manage project execution from the financial side, design JV, business model set-up, and carrying out activities surrounding optimizing set-up and processes, post-deal integration, including design and implementation of functional and business integration, and CapEx budget monitoring and control for investment projects.
- Successfully engaging across the organization, you will serve as the CCB representative within the NA Finance & Controlling community, as well as the point of contact for alignment with the CC OD Controlling, American Shared Service Center Montevideo.
- Your proven ability to think strategically will be essential as you will lead the process to ensure all annual plans, forecasts, and targets are developed, as well as conducting appropriate gap analysis, while engaging with business leaders for measures for targets achievement.
- Building upon your familiarity with international regulations and laws on accounting and taxation, you will maintain compliance and enforcement of all relevant financial policies and procedures (e.g., BASF, Regulatory, ICTP, CSA, SLA).
- As a role model, you will set an environment for taking risks within the organization by ensuring corporate/divisional internal controls, auditing, and risk management guidelines are established and executed.
- Your deep understanding of global basis metal markets, including hedging instruments and awareness of complex accounting topics such as embedded derivatives and embedded leases, will be critical as you interpret financial results and business trends to provide advice and counsel for decision-making.
