BASF is currently looking for a Market Segment Manager, Flexible Packaging Market.

You are responsible for focused marketing and business development across all Resins, Additives and Dispersions product lines for the Flexible Packaging Market.

As the world’s leading chemical company, BASF produces an incredible variety of products for a wide range of consumer industries - for example the automotive, construction, and food industries.

Of course, this offers a vast number of opportunities for marketing professionals. Our marketing teams act as a link between BASF and the global market, with its ever-changing demands. Reacting to these changes quickly and efficiently requires market transparency. In marketing, you are responsible for product and industry segments and consolidate BASF’s global market leadership in close collaboration with our sales teams in the business units.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Identify industry specific trends, requirements, unmet customer needs, and key growth areas and opportunity fields.
- Drive the identification of new business opportunities in defined market having Business Development Responsibility.
- Manage the flexible packaging industry profitability and growth targets.
- Develop and ensure implementation of industry specific strategy and product positioning strategy for assigned industry segment including strategy for positioning against competitive products and value proposition.
- Identify innovation opportunities for assigned industry segment and contribute to input into the innovation pipeline.
- Initiate and manage Innovation/Phase Gate projects acting as Project Lead/Management.
- Coordinate new product launches, including launch packages, for assigned industry segments.
- Implement industry/customer specific CIM/BRM management.
- Establish value chain marketing which includes developing contacts at the customer and third-party customer marketing levels.
- Develop industry specific target pricing in conjunction with product management.
- Collect and validate market and competitive intelligence per assigned industry segment
- Develop and implement best practices to enhance organization’s marketing excellence within the company.
- Develop marketing approach for the printing, packaging, and adhesives industry segment which included sales tools and promotional materials.
- Organize and participate in industry specific trade shows/fairs and ensure BASF representation in key industry associations

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree plus five or more years of work experience with seven years preferred. Three years’ of combined experience in product management, marketing, sales, technical service or business management required with five years preferred. Candidate must have marketing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to:
- manage complex projects and lead and coordinate programs and initiatives successfully
- drive and support change management opportunities
- succeed in an entrepreneurial endeavor
- communicate, interact with, and influence effectively at all levels of personnel and management
- analyze markets, select target products and prepare and execute business strategies
- Outstanding verbal and written presentation skills; highly motivated, self-starter; excellent organizational and people skills.
- Flexible packaging market segment experience preferred but not required.
