We are seeking a Sales Account Manager who will be part of the Transportation, Industrial, Furniture, and Floor Coatings team to support the overall success of the Dispersions & Resins business in North America.

The Dispersions & Resins business of BASF develops, produces, and markets a range of high-quality resins, additives, colorants, and polymer dispersions worldwide. These raw materials are used in formulations for coatings and paints, printing and packaging products, construction chemicals, adhesives, fiber bondings, nonwovens, and paper manufacturing.

The TIF (Transportation, Industrial, Furniture and Floor coatings) business within Dispersions, Resins and Additives regional business unit (N-EDN) is responsible for supplying raw materials to coatings formulators and producers in target industry segments through collaboration with global key accounts, regional customers, and distribution partners.

Sales Account Manager – Industrial Coating (1800195) – Southfield, MI

As a Sales Account Manager, you will be responsible for meeting and exceeding sales goals and objectives in the Industrial Coatings markets, while developing customer business relationships that create long term value for BASF and our customers. You will also implement and execute customer account strategies that maintain and grow our product portfolio. In addition, you will function as BASF’s face to our customers, as well as many other market influencers and industry partners.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Define and implement customer-strategic account plans to achieve sales and profitability growth in line with Business Unit (BU) strategies.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships.
- Negotiate contracts and provide operational guidance and support to the relevant functional departments to ensure implementation.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts to support efficient planning of products and services.
- Identify and attract new customers, pursue new applications, and interact with corresponding process and product developers of potential customers, leading to profitable future business.
- Develop customer-specific concepts and strategies with the support of technical account managers, technical specialists, and market segment managers to identify future growth areas.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree required with at least 5 years of experience in Field Sales Management, Marketing, and/or Business Development, preferably within the Coating field; advanced degree and 7 or more years of the experience desired.
- Experience with Account Management.
- Proven leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, persuasive selling and demonstrated negotiation skills.
- Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented with a proven record of goal attainment.
- Diversity of thinking, organizational awareness, ability to think strategically and creatively
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
- Strong business acumen and demonstrated understanding of the Industrial Coating market.
