Where the Chemistry Happens…

We have a great opportunity for a Senior Production Engineer to join our team. The BASF Sparks, GA, site is a leading producer of agricultural chemicals including fungicides and insecticides.

Senior Production Engineer (1701438)

You will provide production engineering support to the Sparks' operation and be responsible for the day-to-day production operations on a site wide basis to help achieve the overall site objectives. You will provide technical support needed to execute the required production plan in a safe, environmentally sound, on time, and economical manner.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to Operational Team for plant problems that occur.
- Participate in the introduction of new product lines and ensure on-time delivery.
- Provide technical and leadership support in root cause failure analysis for production, EHS, and Quality Incident.
- Responsible for critical RC/RCMS elements and processes, MOC's, PSSR's, Interlock and Bypass Procedures, Safe Work Permit, Lockout Tagout, Operational Procedures, Confined Space, Employee Participation, and Hot Work.
- Play an important role in driving standardization across shifts, optimizes fixed and variable unit costs, and works closely with other support groups to ensure that proper priorities are established.
- Function as liaison with service groups and outside contractors to ensure that the work related to the production facilities is accomplished correctly, promptly, and in the most cost effective manner.
- Provide technical and leadership support to the Technology group to implement plant trials as needed.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- BS Degree in Engineering, Science or related field.
- Minimum 6 years hands-on experience in chemical, Pharmaceutical, Packaging, Cosmetics, Food or beverage manufacturing operations.
- Chemical processing and unit operations experience within a formulations and packaging environment.
- Demonstrated experience communicating effectively, both written and orally, building relationships with individuals at multiple levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated experience leading projects.
- Demonstrated experience in process troubleshooting and process improvement.
- Strong computer capabilities, including Microsoft Office.

We Also Look for…
- BS Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- SAP knowledge and capability.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt training and certification.
