Description
The Analytical Method Development Supervisor / Formulation Chemist is responsible for developing, adapting and implementing methods and procedures for the isolation, detection and quantitation of formulation constituents; additionally seeking out and applying chemistry technologies in the development of potential commercial formulations for BASF's Pest Control Solutions Unit.
Other Responsibilities:
- Residue method development.
- Supervision of analytical service personnel.
- Evaluation and application of formulation technologies to determine the feasibility for integration of new and existing pesticidally active and inert ingredients into product formulations to meet or exceed stated formulations objectives and Company commercial goals
- Develop candidate formulations that comply with product characteristics and objectives for chemical & biological evaluation
- Interface with local, regional and global marketing, production, regulatory and other groups as needed to achieve Company new product objectives
Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
- 5 years of experience in formulation chemistry
- 5 years of experience in residue method development
- Demonstrated creative aptitude to formulation design
- Experience in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Must be willing to travel
Preferred Requirements
- Master's degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
- 3 years of experience in formulation chemistry
- 3 years of experience in Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Experience in microencapsulation technology
- Experience with pesticide formulations and/or aerosol a plus
- Experience with granular formulations a plus
