Where the Chemistry Happens…

The St. Louis, MO, BASF manufacturing site is looking for a second shift Production Supervisor to provide leadership and oversight to a crew of 10 - 20 production operators within the second shift manufacturing environment. The production hours will be 2:00 p.m. until 10:30 a.m., Monday thru Thursday.

As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for scheduling resources (equipment, material and human resources) to accomplish work in a safe, timely, quality conscious, efficient & cost effective manner to meet customer requirements. You will also deliver and track training in processes and procedures for all site production personnel.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Give technical support to all production staff and Production Manager and also act as deputy in Manager's absence
- Handle emergency schedule breaks by effectively and efficiently assigning work within the available resources
- Ensure alignment of the employee's work and behaviors with the Vision, Values & Goals of the organization
- Prepare, communicate, and maintain written records of employee performance including coaching, performance counseling & discipline as well as recognition of exceptional performance
- Provide proper documentation and administration of employee time & attendance, disability, worker's compensation, family medical leave, etc.
- Facilitate BASF-sponsored safety awareness & training initiatives (confined space entry, lock-out tag-out, hot works, line break, as well as other structured safety programs)
- Prepare and deliver annual performance appraisals to direct reports
- Production reporting of daily activities

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
- BS/BA Degree in Engineering or Related Discipline with 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting -OR- AA Degree in a Manufacturing Related Discipline with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting -OR- HS Diploma with 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting
- Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated competencies in strong leadership and interpersonal skills, communication, customer focus, entrepreneurial acting/change agent and coaching
- Very strong process analytical/mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of inventory and production controls
- Proficient computer skills
- Must be willing and able to work overtime as required AND Must be willing and able to work 2:00 PM - 10:30 AM Shift
