Where the Chemistry Happens…

Order Expeditor (1703509) -Union, NJ

The incumbent weighs, allocates, and prepares shipments of precious metal while maintaining proper procedures, preliminary records, and control. Takes samples, packages, and makes ready for assay lab. The tasks include but are not limited to:
- Performs necessary paperwork, calculations etc. required for proper material flow/control such as the preliminary preparation of bar lists after stamping etc.
- Checks receiving reports and allocates proper inventory to proper orders.
- Responsible for properly weighing, stamping, and preparation of material for shipment.
- Performs all required sampling operations in accordance with operating procedures.
- Responsible for the proper handling of precious metal and the proper segregation of scrap.
- Assists supervisor in proper storage of inventory.
- Conducts cycle counts and reconciliation.
- Operates industrial truck or hand pallet jack to load and unload or move materials and products.
- Works closely and co-operates with metal control personnel adhering to all metal policies and procedures.
- Follows operating procedures precisely and provide feedback to teammates and management team regarding improvement opportunities.
- Responsible for shipping activities in computer system.
- Responsible for the proper handling and care of equipment, cleanliness of work area. Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Works in a safe manner, adhering to all safety rules and the proper use of all required safety equipment
- Self-starter with ability to work with minimum supervision
- Frequently and safely lifts, moves, and handle weights up to 75 lbs.
- Frequently stands, walk, and climb up to 90% working time
- Ability and discipline to work overtime when required on a short notice
- Highly-developed teamwork competency, ability to work with others effectively under time constraints
- Excellent quality competencies, ability to execute tasks safely, consistently and reliably.
- Adheres to all security regulations.
- Ability to troubleshoot
- Self-starter with ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Frequently and safely lifts, moves, and handle weights up to 75 lbs.
- Frequently stands, walk, and climb up to 90% working time.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
- Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…
- Basic qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience in precious metal industry, warehouse operations, and/or logistics

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating a forklift
- DOT certification
- Experience with SAP for material transactions
