We have an opportunity for a Process Engineer, at our manufacturing site in West Memphis, Arkansas, which supports the overall success of the Dispersions and Resins business in North America.

Process Engineer - Requisition # 1703439

This position will provide engineering, technical support, and leadership to the West Memphis Site. She/He will provide direction/support to the technical operations and department and site activities. This role will specifically develop and update manufacturing instructions, lead troubleshooting efforts, and interact with operations, maintenance/engineering, R&D and other technical personnel. This position is responsible for process improvements, monitoring and improving quality, product yield, cost of operations, safety, and environmental compliance.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Provide strong leadership in safe plant operation and adherence to BASF Process Safety rules and policies - driving EHS excellence
- Effectively coordinate Management of Change (MOCs) in manufacturing areas to ensure the facility maintains control of quality, meets regulatory and customer requirements, and safety concerns are addressed
- Drive process safety management by collecting and updating necessary process safety information and participating in process hazard analysis (PHAs).
- Own the optimization of scheduled and unscheduled downtime (asset effectiveness, AE tools) and overall cycle time improvements of the process batches
- Achieve operational excellence through cost savings, revenue generation, and energy reduction projects - Identify and implement Process Optimization / Lean Opportunities within the technology
- Provide data analysis and root cause analysis to solve problems on the day to day basis, upon nonconformance and through strategic objectives
- Play an important role in driving standardization across shifts, optimizes fixed and variable unit costs and works closes with other support groups like Maintenance to ensure that proper priorities are assigned
- Construct and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, Checklists and Batch Sheet templates by material and customer to ensure that floor operations match the expectations for cost, safety, product yield, and environmental compliance.
- Support Capital Plan and execution for existing and future Capital projects as a Manufacturing Representative
- Ensure proper documentation of operating files, records, procedures and technical files and the annual re-certification of their applicability
- Support environmental and compliance requirements through emissions calculations and spill prevention.
- Maintain complete up-to-date equipment files, including P&IDs, blueprints, flow and log sheets, and operating manuals and instructions.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: You Will…
- BS Degree in engineering, preferably chemical engineering, or technical area with at least 2 years' experience.
- Experience in Process Safety Management.
- Ability to manage technical projects consistent with business strategy.
- Demonstrated capability to manage and streamline multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement and change management initiatives, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Solid written and oral communication skills. Solid interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Greenbelt preferred or ability to obtain a Greenbelt status within ~12 months.
