Where the Chemistry Happens…

The Site Manager provides leadership, direction, and focus for all functions at the West Memphis site. This includes leading a broad range of activities including EHS, Operations, Maintenance, New Product Introduction, Operational Excellence, Process Engineering, and all capital projects necessary to support EDN growth plans. In addition, the role ensures that processes and activities comply with BASF policies, regulations, and our values for safety, quality, environmental, and financial stewardship. The Site Manager is a member of the EDN/O LT and interacts with global ED business colleagues and support organizations across BASF North America in fulfilling the mission of the business and sites, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving operational excellence.

- Lead, coach, and develop the West Memphis team to achieve excellence in EHS performance, manufacturing capability, as well as meet customer expectations in quality and delivery.
- Drive a culture where continuous improvement, breakthrough performance, and an enjoyable work environment are expectations of all team members.
- Identify and manage all operational risks including EHS, regulatory, community interaction, quality, cost, equipment optimization, and reliability.
- Develop and implement budget, objectives, personnel plans, inventory management, and capital plans that align with the strategic objectives of the businesses supplied by the Wyandotte Dispersions and Resins plant.
- Create and execute manufacturing and asset strategies to ensure assets are aligned with business strategies that ensure technology transfers are issue-free, as well as provide for reliable and flexible product availability while maximizing asset utilization.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required; advanced degree is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a minimum of 4 manufacturing roles, preferably in chemical industry, including project engineering and production management
- Proven track record of manufacturing achievement in the critical success areas of EHS, cost reduction, continuous improvement, cycle time reduction, asset optimization, and application of leading edge methods and technologies.
- Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills with ability to analyze complex technical, operational and financial data, and capable of developing effective solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with and influence people at all levels in the organization, customers, suppliers, and other external contacts that allow for achievement of substantial results.
- Proficient at focusing employees at all levels to recognize the “right thing to do” and empower them to act decisively within their ability and area of responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong teams, coach, influence and guide employees, while recognizing and developing talent throughout the organization as a means.
- Established record of creating continuous improvements in the culture, facilities, and technology.
