Where the Chemistry Happens…

We are seeking a professional like you to join our team to perform critical account management activities including preparation, deal-closing, and follow-up, requiring effective steering to ensure target achievement. We are relying on you to collaborate with technical service and marketing teams to understand customer and market needs and translate them into profitable business for BASF.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Manage day-to-day activity with National Accounts
- Create and implement business plans with National Accounts that ensure growth, strengthen customer intimacy, and create long term partnerships
- Work closely with National Account’s marketing and sales management to create sales tools, customized marketing/communication tactics and training resources to effectively drive demand creation for the BASF AP portfolio
- Call on designated distributors to communicate the value of BASF’s product
- Develop a value based Account Plan for each customer based on their unique needs, interests, and business goals and objectives in order to maximize sales opportunities
- Developing and maintaining good business/trade relationships with designated distributors and linked accounts
- Develop annual POG and Purchase plans for individual channel partners
- Ensure fulfilment of marketing letter requirements
- Supervise and coaching Regional Account Managers to execute Account Plan and BASF overall Customer Strategy
- Communicate and promoting BASF marketing, sales and technical programs to designated accounts and key personnel in order to drive business and achieve sales goals
- Ensure the Account Plan defines potential of the assigned accounts for both existing and potential customers and that establishes priority coverage for accounts and prospects through appropriate call frequency and geographic patterns
- Implement the account plan in order to yield maximum sales and meet or exceed sales goals
- Initiate and coordinating strategic planning sessions with designated accounts that ensure business/action plans are developed, implemented and updated on a regional basis
- Take an active role in assisting the National Account Manager with Linked Account Call Preparations, Call Plans and issues resolution
Communicate business issues and possible alternatives to BASF management and working with the appropriate BASF areas to implement solutions
- Support, cooperate and closely coordinate actions and plans with sales/marketing teams to ensure objectives align with accounts and are achieved

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Science, preferably Agriculture or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in field sales, management, marketing and business development preferably in Canadian agricultural industry
- Strong understanding of the manufacturer/distributor business relationship
- Proven track record of success selling to distributors
- Demonstrated success in budget management in a sales environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop strong, successful business relationships with customers as well as internal teammates
- Ability to self-manage time and resources and to allocate time and energy appropriately, resulting in achievement of goals
- Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Willingness to travel overnight/weekly. Minimum 40% overnight travel
