Where the Chemistry Happens…

Chassis Role Technician (1702044) – Wixom, MI

The incumbent in this role will:
- Complete emission tests as required on client vehicles.
- Monitor status of all test equipment and interface directly with Chassis Rolls Manager.
- Ensure that analytical systems are calibrated and operational.
- Assist in the setting up of vehicles for emission tests with correct sampling locations.
- On completion of the vehicle tests, check for any alarms or errors before processing test results.
- Wear personal safety equipment.
- Follow the guidelines and procedures set out in the health and safety manual.
- Complete any housekeeping tasks as scheduled by department Manager.
- Calibrate analyzers, service analytical benches and safely handle span gasses.
- Work shifts 6:00am – 2:30pm or 2:00pm – 10:30pm and weekend overtime as needed.
- Normal physical demands include using small forklift to maneuver vehicles, sliding 40-50 lbs.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look For in You…

Basic qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to drive a computer simulator
- Experience using Microsoft Excel
- Ability to follow test procedures and written instructions

Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Engineering or related scientific discipline plus 2+ years of vehicle emissions laboratory experience; or a High School Diploma or GED plus 5+ years’ vehicle emissions laboratory experience
- OEM or Tier 1 Vehicle Emissions Laboratory experience
- Working knowledge of Horiba Mexa-7000 Emissions Systems
- Ability to operate Horiba vehicle emissions control systems
- Fork lift experience
- Familiarity with EPA Drive Cycles and Code of Federal Regulations
- ASE Certification
- Light Fabrication Skills (Welding)
- FTIR and PND/PM measurement familiarity
