Where the Chemistry Happens…

An experienced Market Segment Manager with industry segment focus will drive profitability of the portfolio through strategy and new business development. This position is to be held by an experienced (mid-career) hire, recognized for driving sustainable solutions both inside BASF and throughout the residential construction industry.

Market Segment Manager - Residential Construction (Performance Materials) (1703970) – Wyandotte, MI - (Location may be flexible based on successful candidate's location)

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Lead the development of Segment Industry Roadmaps for North America.
- Represent the North American segment as a member of the Global Segment Team.
- Initiate and steer innovation projects through the Phasegate process to secure profitable growth for the future of the Industry segment.
- Be responsible to initiate/coordinate technology/product transfers to/from North America from other regions.
- Steer profitability performance of segment through portfolio positioning reviews, product improvement projects, and price band development.
- Oversee new business development including lead identification and management, and development of customer-specific projects.
- Conduct customer segmentation, prioritizing customer growth opportunities and service needs accordingly.
- Establish product/pricing value propositions for portfolio.
- Translate marketing strategy to clear sales packages for territory/account managers.
- Manage marketing communication strategy for respective market segment including trade show presence, endorsements, advertisements, and product launches.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 7 years of work experience (preferably in the target market segment) with multiple roles within marketing and/or sales functions with increasing levels of responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience leading projects.
- Demonstrated R&D portfolio steering and strategy development experience preferred.
- Industry-specific certification(s) (i.e., LEED) and construction industry experience preferred.
