Where the Chemistry Happens…

This position will provide reliability support to the site by developing and implementing reliability engineering practices and methodologies with a long-term and strategic focus.

Reliability Engineer (Rotating Equipment) (1704996) – Wyandotte, MI

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Improve Asset Effectiveness and increase reliability of equipment and processes.
- Apply appropriate reliability tools to drive improvements, optimize costs, and improve Asset Effectiveness (i.e., Bad Actor Program, RCA, PMO, RCM, Reliability Roadmap, Criticality Assessments).
- Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics for proactive identification and resolution of reliability issues.
- Provide troubleshooting support and recommendations to operating units, including emergency work reviews.
- Facilitate Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFAs) and corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems.
- Lead the Bad Actor Program and create action plans for improving reliability and AE.
- Establish, monitor, and optimize Predictive Maintenance Plans.
- Train and develop in-house maintenance resources.
- Identify and implement best practices across site.
- Interpret codes, regulations, and standards.
- Evaluate new technologies to improve asset performance.
- Support capital projects by supplying engineering expertise in the specification, design, and construction of capital projects in accordance with plant design requirements as well as regulatory and BASF standards.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You…
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a chemical or similar manufacturing operation, including at least 5 years as a rotating equipment reliability engineer.
- Proven computer skills.
- Must have sound technical knowledge of instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industrial maintenance procedures including work planning, PM, and repair parts acquisition.
- Strong ability to make business decisions based upon situation analysis and resources available.
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong ability to work as part of a team and lead teams.
- Strong understanding of critical maintenance activities (i.e., static and rotating mechanical equipment).
- Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse environment - working closely with mechanics, operators, engineers, and management to solve problems and address systemic issues related to mechanical equipment reliability.
- SAP CMMS working knowledge is desired.
- Apollo RCFA experience preferred.
