Where the Chemistry Happens…

This position is responsible for providing mechanical expertise to the site. The role provides technical support to Production and Maintenance personnel, leads or participates in Root Cause Failure Analyses, and monitors KPI data for early identification and resolution of reliability issues. This position may also collaborate with Production and Maintenance personnel and provide services related to design review, repair and maintenance, including predictive/preventative maintenance activities. In addition, the incumbent will provide technical support to troubleshooting of problems and optimization of PM and PdM programs. Finally, this position also ensures a culture of continuous improvement employing LEAN Manufacturing tools.

Formula for Success: You Will…
- Apply appropriate reliability tools to drive improvements, optimize costs and improve asset effectiveness. Tools may include, but are not limited to, the Bad Actor Program, FMEA, RBI, RBM, RCM, and the Reliability Roadmap.
- Ensure development and sustenance of the Critical Equipment list.
- Participate in Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFAs) and corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems.
- Participate in the Bad Actor program and create action plans for improving reliability.
- Identify and implement mechanical best practices across the site.
- Assist maintenance and operations team with daily troubleshooting/provide sustainable solutions
- Assist in the training and development of in-house maintenance resources.
- Support capital projects by supplying engineering expertise in the specification, design, and construction of projects in accordance with plant design requirements, BASF standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of manufacturing, maintenance and/or reliability experience preferred OR 10+ years of manufacturing, maintenance and/or reliability experience in a chemical/petrochemical or other similar manufacturing operation required.

· Broad based, hands on knowledge and experience with various types of mechanical equipment. Also must possess a solid understanding of maintenance work processes.

· Ability to communicate effectively with facts and figures along with the ability to influence, persuade and negotiate. Strong interpersonal skills are required in this position.

· Knowledge and experience to provide technical guidance

· A general understanding of maintenance activities associated with process equipment such as centrifugal pumps, piping system, pressure vessels, atmospheric storage tanks, positive displacement pumps, relief devices and compressors of various design.

· General knowledge of API and ASME codes, vibration analysis and equipment lubrication programs

· General knowledge of SAP
